X Games has landed in Munich for the final overseas stop of 2013. Fourteen medal competitions -- including Mountain Bike Slopestyle, which made its X Games debut -- stretched over four days at the Olympiapark, which opened in 1972 for the Summer Olympics.

Rain may have wreaked havoc with RallyCross' past two events, but Saturday's make-up race was one of the best yet.
Prior to this year, Daniel Sandoval was a BMX park rider that threw down ridiculous web videos that combined innovative and technical lip tricks with new box jump variations. After X Games came calling, Daniel Sandoval became a regular at each stop this year, ultimately ending the X Games BMX Park season with his first medal in Munich, a bronze.
And The Rains Came

Rain and inclement weather forced organizers to postpone the event until Sunday, June 30, setting up an action-packed day for spectators that will also include the finals in Enduro X, Mountain Bike Slopestyle and Street League as well as a RallyCross race.

Canadian Drew Bezanson dropped one of the heaviest BMX Park Web videos of the year just weeks before X Games Munich. But Bezanson was unable to put it all together during the BMX Park finals, finishing in fifth place.
In previous years, Daniel Dhers was a perennial favorite to win X Games gold in BMX Park. This year, through X Games Foz and X Games Barcelona, Dhers seemed to have lost his footing, placing off the podium at both stops. That changed at X Games Munich. Dhers earned his first gold medal of the year with moves such as this turndown flair.

On The Scene
X Games Munich fans have been enjoying a special, expanded version of the usual X Fest space at this event, with a Cultural Village offering skate and BMX demos, live mural painting and even tattooing on site.
Glasgow, Scotland's Kriss Kyle lives inside one of the few indoor skateparks in Scotland and has a perfect BMX bowl to ride right outside of his bedroom. Kyle was invited to X Games Munich to compete in BMX Park, and between bike-maintenance sessions he was able to decipher original park lines in preparation for Saturday's competition.
Ishod Wair skated the course with reckless abandon and qualified for Sunday's Street League at X Games finals. Wair joined Street League in 2012, and until this weekend in Munich, he had never qualified for a final event.
Mountain Bike Slopestyle
The European fans have a lot of enthusiasm," says Mountain Bike Slopestyle competitor Cam McCaul [not pictured] of Munich. "Theres usually some beer flowing in the crowd and a lot of cowbells and horns. And its crazy what a little bit of crowd noise can do for you. Im expecting a lot from these crowds. I think they are going to really represent, which helps us all get a little bit crazy.

Despite nagging injuries, Nate Adams decided to compete in Moto X Speed & Style in Munich against the likes of Josh Sheehan, earning a bronze medal in the process. Adams lost out on the silver to Javier Villegas when a mid-race collision caused his bike to stall out.
The Olympic Tower, beyond being architecturally interesting, is a useful orienting feature in the sprawling Olympiapark -- currently home to X Games Munich. Its glass-enclosed observation deck assures a panoramic view of the entire city, with outlines of prominent urban and geographic landmarks etched on the windows to help visitors get their bearings and discover new places to add to their itineraries.
The MegaRamp is located right on top of the Olympic Lake, which makes for picturesque backdrops and exciting viewing. So far, no one has dipped a BMX bike in the drink. The skateboarders, however, haven't been as lucky -- Jake Brown had to fish his out of the water Wednesday.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
Respected for their independent spirit and loved for songs both tongue-in-cheek ("Thrift Shop") and thought-provoking ("Same Love"), Macklemore and Ryan Lewis drew a crowd of 7,500 people to the Olympiastadion for a thoroughly energetic performance. They played a special show the night before the X Games began, setting the tone for the event and welcoming five days of live music to Munich.
Bob Burnquist, who has competed at every X Games summer event since 1995, took fifth place in the Skateboard Vert finals at X Games Munich on Thursday. He'll return to competition on Sunday to attempt to defend his gold medal in Skateboard Big Air and earn his 25th career X Games medal.
Evan Smith hasn't managed to take the top qualifying spot in the Street League Select Series, but he doesn't mind much. His unique approach to skating hard-to-find lines with raw skills never disappoints the crowd.
The fact that the vert ramp at X Games Munich will not be hosting a BMX Vert event hasn't kept the BMX Big Air competitors from dropping in for a few fun laps when the opportunities have presented themselves. The two ramps are located right next to each other, after all.
The stars aligned for Curren Caples at X Games Munich, and the skateboarder who most exemplifies style and flow finally took his rightful place at the top of the Skateboard Park podium.
