About Javier

One of the fastest Chilean racers of his generation, Javier now puts his bike skills to work on the Freestyle and Speed & Style courses. At X Games LA 2012, Javier earned bronze in Freestyle, becoming the first Chilean athlete to medal at X Games. He rode with a lot of energy, and his tricks had good extension. At X Games Munich 2013, Villegas surprised in Speed & Style when he bull-dogged his way to silver, using an aggressive style that included air and he bailed out of a flip trick. The impact knocked him unconscious and broke his hip. He's focused on X Games Austin but a practice crash on April 8 snapped his femur. He's pushing through a fast recovery and started riding again in mid-may.

  • Javier earned bronze in Freestyle at X Games 2012, becoming the first Chilean athlete to medal at X Games. He also earned a Speed & Style at X Games Munich 2013. Javier was the overall winner of Night of the Jumps in 2011 and placed 5th overall at Red Bull X-Fighters in 2012.
