Athlete Bio

On Nov. 13, 2014, after nearly 10 years as a sit-ski racer with many World Cup and Paralympic wins and X Games gold from 2011, Dueck formally retired. Days later he was invited to Mono Skier X, which returns to X Games after a three year absence. He accepted this last challenge and isn't coming to Aspen for a retirement run -- he's arriving with a professional coach to make sure his "balance is on point" and a ski tech to help him navigate the course. Dueck is writing a book and is a motivational speaker. In Oct. 2013, his daughter, Nova, was born.
