About Edgard

The 2011 X Games Big Air bronze medalist is one of the high-flying Brazilian skaters and will put on a show. Unlike most of his Brazilian counterparts, he lives full-time in Brazil, only traveling to the U.S. for contests. The married father of two is known to all as "Vovo," which means "grandpa," in Portuguese, even though he's only 32. In Brazil, Edgard helps young skaters develop their skating skills to become pro skaters.

  • Edgar earned his first X Games medal, bronze, in Big Air in 2011. He sliced his little finger (almost completely off) in July 2013 and during X Games LA he couldn't grab his board with his left hand. He also broke his left wrist in early March 2013 but continued to skate the mega ramp at Bob Burnquist's.
