Athlete Bio

Gary is one of the few to hold down a BMX career for well over a decade. He's remained current the entire time. Driven by innate style and creativity rather than a desire to learn the newest tricks, Young is admired by peers as one of the best all-around talents in the sport. A four-time X Games Park medalist, his timeless tricks and soulful style have earned him top-5 finishes in 10 of his 15 Park appearances, including gold at X Games Barcelona '13. The 13 competition starts in one discipline before earning a gold was the longest such streak in X Games history.

You Don't Say?

  • Gary owns a BMX Park gold medal from X Games Barcelona 2013. Though he has a sliver from X Games 2003 and two bronze from 2009 and 2010, Barcelona 2013 is his first gold medal after 13 competition starts. Gary has placed in the top-five in 10 of his 14 X Games Park appearances and placed first in the 2014 Van Doren Invitational in Huntington Beach, CA.
