Athlete Bio

With 16 X Games medals, 34 X Games competition starts and the most Dew Tour finals appearances of all-time (60), Nyquist is simply one of the strongest and diversely skilled BMX riders ever. He hasn't won X Games gold since doubling up in Park and Dirt in 2003 and his 5th and 10th place finishes in 2014 were disappointing but he's still more than relevant in the contest scene. In October 2014 he won Red Bull's Dreamline dirt event in Asheville and took second at both Dew Tour Portland in Dirt and Dew Tour Ocean City in Bowl. A master of backflip variations, double barspins, rockets, suicides and trick drivers, expect Nyquist to combine classic style and tricks with modern bangers.

You Don't Say?

  • Ryan has two 2013 X Games medals: Silver in Barcelona Park, bronze in Foz do Iguaçu Dirt. He medaled at X Games from 1997 to 2006 but did not medal again until X Games LA 2012 when he took home silver in Park. With 16 career medals, Ryan is the second-most decorated X Games BMX athlete in history.
