Josh Mulcoy grew up and made a name for himself in Santa Cruz. And while he loves nothing more than wintering at home, he's come to enjoy his time away from town. Hitting the road for months at a time, the more remote the better.

It's the dirty, old nasty harbor that gave the Mulcoy name notoriety, and to this day Josh remains one of the best on the unruley sandbar.

These days "Harbor" Bill Mulcoy spents a great deal of time surfing down in Mexico. Warm water and no hassles? Seems like a pretty good retirement choice.

When somebody in California says, "I'm going surfing up north," it used to mean a road trip to Santa Cruz. Today, as Mulcoy can attest, northern surf territory reaches far above the U.S./Canada border.

No stranger to cold water, Mulcoy was among some of the first to delve into what the northern Atlantic had to offer. Come to find out places like Iceland, as well as Sweden and Norway are holding.

Every once in a great while Mulcoy does actually take off his wetsuit. And where better to trunk it than the warm, wave-rich coast of mainland Mexico.

When the surf's not pumping Mulcoy still finds a way to get in the water. Kite surfing in Iceland presents its own unique natural obsticles.
