Still Life: Nike's 'Never Not'
Never Not, Part One
After two years of anticipation, the team movie from Nike Snowboarding is finally here. It is a story told in two parts. In Part One, which was released on Sept. 16, the action does the talking. In Part Two, the riders divulge the inside stories on the shots shown in Part One. Here are some photos from the making of the movie. Pictured here: Ethan Morgan takes a sunset stroll in Iceland while Danny Kass cuts through pow in Canada.
Bennee and the Vets
Justin Bennee's been snowboarding for a while now and his part in "Never Not" proves that he's still got it. Bennee claimed the only hip-hop track in the movie and his riding hit as hard as the beats. Frontside transfer to tree bash.
The hallmark of a good snowboard movie is a segment that just makes you want to go out and rip turns in powder. Austin Smith delivers -- on this and more. He might even make you want to try a front 10!
Paper covers rock
Is this director Joe Carlino and Halldor Helgason playing a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors? Are their hands embracing in a bromantic moment? Missing the fist bump? Doesn't matter. These two did damage in the streets last season. Helgason's part is proof.
Nicolas Mller commutes to work in Alaska. He rode every one of those lines. Watch and see.
Twerking, Nico style
And here's Mller at home in the Alps, tweaked and flying through the trees. This guy has got the life. "Never Not" will make you want to move in next door.
Raise the Rüf
Gigi Rf nabbed the video's ender and, with impossible tweaks, perfect backside 180s and psycho AK lines, it's another part for the history books. All hail Rf.
Rf has a way of lighting up any terrain. Here it's with a method. In "Never Not" you'll see every other trick in his bag.
The heli can only get you so far in Alaska. Manuel Diaz and Gigi Rf make the last leg to the top of their lines on their own.
That's what the new Nike movie is: Hot fire. Mller, Rf and filmer Florian Eckhardt soak it all in.
