Drew Tabke is the new overall leader in the Swatch Freeride World Tour by The North Face after a crowd-pleasing first place finish in Chamonix, France, last Saturday. Austrian Fabio Studer landed the second place spot and Swedish skier Wille Lindberg rounded out the podium.
For the women, reigning World Tour champion Christine Hargin added another first place finish to her list of accomplishments, which includes a win in Revelstoke earlier this month.
About his 91.67 score, Tabke said, "I just chose a line that suited my style more, a bit more open and obvious but with the chance for big airs and a 360. By going to an easier line I was able to step up the amplitude and the tricks and that came out in the judging."

His technical riding and ability to ski at high speeds without sacrificing fluidity has helped maintain his position as the men's leader in the tour, which began with a win at the first stop in Revelstoke.
Second place's Studer had the kind of day where everything went according to plan and after dropping in fifth and throwing a 360 off a top cliff and a 720 on another air, he was the one to beat. "It was great fun to ride in Chamonix today, everything went perfect for me," Studer said.
Lindberg gave a degree of credit to the snow conditions for his podium topping performance. "For me, these are perfect conditions," he said. "Not too much powder, but still soft. When you land you know that it's going to be pretty firm and still you can ride with high speed."
After a few weeks off, the women were well rested and ready for the day's competition. The 2012 overall FWT champion Christine Hargin of Sweden managed back-to-back wins and continues to set the level of competition with her hard-charging style.
Nadine Wallner of Austria who scored 72.33, and Pia Nic Gundersen of Norway, who scored 70.67, joined Hargin on the podium.
The competition continues in Kirkwood, Calif., on Feb. 27, Fieberbrunn Pillerseetal, Austria, on March 9, and concludes in Verbier, Switzerland, on March 23.
