Ben Karpinski March 2014 portfolio
Matt Bublitz, F/S slash
In his latest gallery for XGames.com, skate photographer Ben Karpinski shares new images from spots in Southern California, Illinois and Texas. For starters, Karpinski kicked it off in San Pedro, Calif. "Huntington Beach's Matt Bublitz may be more known being behind the lens than in front of it. After his video 'Lo-Tide' came out last year, The Skateboard Mag gave him a shot at making 'Hi-Tide' for them. Not being able to get the beach out of his head, Matt scratches a grind on top of the wave at Channel Street," says Karpinski.
David Loy, F/S hurricane
"Skate spots come and skate spots go. This Los Angeles rail laid dormant for close to a decade but once someone got rid of a few skate stoppers it was open season for David Loy to get this frontside hurricane."
Jon Dickson, Gap to F/S boardslide
"Rookie Deathwish Pro John Dickson goes up and over to get to this frontside boardslide."
Guru Khalsa, 5-0 across and down
"While most pros chose to migrate to the West or even the East Coast, Guru Khalsa has enough gems to skate in Texas to stay there year round."
Nick Merlino, F/S feeble
"With the deadline for the Dekline video looming over Nick's crazy head, there is no telling what he is going to come out with. Here he warms up with a frontside feeble on a weekday mission in Orange County."
Nassim Guammaz, B/S lipslide
"Coming all the way from the Netherlands, Nassim got to see the bulk of America this past year. While the chrome peanut in Chicago was cool, it was this chrome kinked rail in the Chicago suburbs that really caught his eye."
Nate Lacoste, F/S feeble
"What better way to escape the snow in Vancouver than to go skate ditches on the beach in sunny Southern California? Nate Lacoste gets an oceanfront frontside feeble."
Omar Hassan, Feeble
"Omar Hassan goes the distance on this feeble grind, from over the light to past the death box."
Al Partanen, F/S air
"Al may be a recent Southern California transplant but he already has the backyard vert ramp scene on lock. Frontside air at Borden's ramp."
Taylor Smith, Kickflip
"No stranger to the beach town back alleys, Taylor Smith finds a little bump to blast a kickflip off of in the middle of a downhill line."
