    The Adidas Busenitz Collection

    By Robin Fleming

    Published Wednesday February 13, 2013

Adidas introduces the new Busenitz Collection.

    Adidas/Phillips

Professional skateboarder Dennis Busenitz just released a fresh online video in support of his newest Adidas footwear collection, based around the already popular Busenitz Pro.

Busenitz skates fast, like he's being timed or he's on fire and hoping to outrun the heat. He possesses a seemingly endless amount of energy, creativity and stamina, so it makes sense that his first shoe was designed to perform and built to last.

AdidasThe Busenitz Collection -- the Vul and the ADV.

Born in the U.S., but raised in Germany, Busenitz played soccer prior to picking up a skateboard, making Adidas a natural fit. Given the opportunity to design his first signature shoe, Busenitz drew from the brand's rich heritage in soccer.

The Adidas Dennis Busenitz Pro dropped in March of 2010 and was an immediate success. The shoe was built on a cupsole that featured excellent heel cushioning along with exceptional board-feel due to the thinness of the front portion of the sole. The look of the Busenitz Pro was based on the popular soccer shoe, the Copa Mundial, including the extra long soccer tongue, which could fold over as a lace saver or be removed by cutting along a dotted line for a more traditional skate silhouette.

Details like the recessed lace holes, double stitched ollie area, cushioned ankle cuff and overall fit of his first shoe were carried over to the Busenitz Vulc. Built on a vulcanized platform, the shoe has out of the box wearability and flexibility. In addition, a grippier tread pattern and heel stabilizing design were added to upgrade the model.

The Busenitz ADV, which stands for Advanced, is a further upgrade on the original, conceptualized by the Adidas Innovation Team. Constructed of a single piece of nubuck suede with a visible rubber toe-cap, the Busenitz ADV is super durable and able to withstand its' namesake's vicious attack.

With the Busenitz Collection, Adidas has managed to cover the Busenitz Pro loyalists with six new color ups of the classic. To see more of the collection go to www.adidas.com.
