Thanks for clearing that up. Moving on to New Orleans. Give us your version of the swimming pool incident.
I was with a bunch of people. I jumped in the pool with all my clothes on, and all these police officers show up and were trying to arrest me. And I said, "Catch me if you can!" and I started doing the backstroke. "If you wanna arrest me, you're gonna have to get in the pool!" Then they were gonna taze me, but if you taze somebody in a pool you're gonna get electrocuted. So that didn't happen. Then I told them, "My dad's fat, and when he's in a pool we swims with his T-shirt on and his shorts. The only difference is that I have on pants and shoes. So what's the crime? I went all the way down to the police station but they didn't know what to charge me for, so they let me go.

Did you spend the night in the jail?
No. The whole thing took like three or four hours though.

So I heard you're an artist now. True story?
Yeah, I started painting. And somebody asked me if I wanted to do an art show in Philly and New York and I said yeah. So I just took it super seriously, and now I've been buying like 50 canvas, and I'll paint in Australia and I'll ship them home. And then I'll go paint some in Bangladesh and ship them home. London. Madrid. All that. Most of them are serious but there are a lot of funny ones too.

So what are they? Landscapes? Portraits? Abstract?
I'd say mostly I paint hot chicks. But other than that, I've painted my buddy who's fresh out of jail and I have so many funny quotes from him. So I'll paint a picture of him and write [one of his] funny quotes on it.

Is it oil on canvas?
I like to use watercolor and egg whites.

Say I want to buy one; what'll it set me back?
I've only sold one painting, and it went for $1,000 for a Ryan Dunn benefit. That's the only one I've sold. I guess we'll see. I don't even know what to price them at.

So now here's the part when I ask you about retiring from pro skateboarding to become a full-time artist. Fair question?
Well, basically, I have bone spurs in my feet and my knee's [messed] up. There are just so many problems that it's more pain than pleasure to skateboard right now. Just a lot of pain. I don't know. Hopefully over time everything will heal. But I have like six lumps in my feet from all the wear and tear and I just don't think that's ever going to heal. So either I have to have surgery or I'm just going to have to deal with it. It doesn't hurt to walk but it hurts to skate.

Anytime Element wants to sponsor somebody new, they call me up and let me see their sponsor-me videos or whatever, and I usually always say yes. Element always choses good skaters for the team.

Have any financial advice for Nyjah Huston?
I'd say don't try to start your own company. Ride for Element. They have distribution everywhere. It would be dumb to quit. And that's why he's back on Element.

What else is on your horizon?
We're working on this show called Radio Clash with Jason Ellis. Rick Kosick from Jackass is putting that one together.

And what about your upcoming episode of MTV's "Punk'd"?
I did a guest appearance and everybody on the show said I did the best job ever. They want me to host it. And I said, "Hell, yeah!" So I guess the next season I'm gong to officially host the whole thing. I've been doing pranks my whole life, so I guess I'm pretty good at it.
