    En Vogue: Tignes Style

      Whiteout

This high up in the French Alps, there's nothing but wide-open bowls, couloirs and sheer faces -- a vast, colorless landscape that's broken only by lift towers and other skiers. This woman takes a cue from nature, running the classic all-white outfit from top to toes. (Bonus cred for the fur hood and aviators.)

      Sunbathing, '75 style

No one does midday après like our European compatriots, who understand the critical nature of parking the sticks, zipping down the jacket and soaking up some rays on the glacier while the day allows. Here, holiday-makers lounge at The Terrace At Tignes in April 1975.

      Ripper van Winkle

The wind's been up strong this week in Tignes, making the face mask a wise choice for those braving the lift. The flowing faux beard on this model just means extra neck insulation ... and style points.

      One love

Though we can't say with certainty that the Europeans invented the one-piece, they most definitely wear them better (and more frequently) than anyone else on the planet. Word on the street is that this Tignes skier ended up in this neon gem after losing a bet, but we suspect he might've rocked it without prompting.

      Years young

When you've been skiing for more than a couple of decades, you get the après thing down pat -- and show the young guns a thing or two about fashion, function and multi-use apparel.

      Costume party

The people in the pink and blue wigs, to the right, probably thought they were nailing it with their off-kilter ski kits, but then this Lorax-inspired onesie shows up and handily steals their thunder. Just another night at La Pignatta in Tignes Val Claret.

      Ski sherpa

Evidently, this man isn't the only Tignes skier transporting his tired tots this way. At least he's counterbalanced.
    • 8null

      Go, Speed Racer, Go!

Why fuss with separate goggles when you can just go with the welded-together-helmet option? No word on how this Tignes skier swaps his lenses, but hopefully they all have that mirrored finish.
    • 9null

      Fashionistot

Even at this tender age, this young European is already exhibiting the impeccable style sensibilities of the continent. Belted one-piece? Goggles available only across the pond? Kerchief to ward off the stinging wind? Check, check and check, my good man.
