Finist'Air draws FMX, BMX stars to NW France
Why would Wes Agee, Jey Rouanet, Charles Pagès, Clinton Moore, Andrè Villa, Taka Higashino and Tom Pagès -- some of the most impressive riders in FMX -- pass through Brittany in the far reaches of northwestern France at the end of the the country's summer break last weekend?
For the Finist'Air Show, of course.
For the past eight years, the FAS has been one of the best FMX events in Europe, hosting the top freestyle motocross riders in the world, such as the recent winners of Red Bull X-Fighters (Tom Pagès) and X Games Moto X Freestyle (Higashino). This time nearly 14,000 people turned out in Briec, near Quimper, France, to enjoy the Jam format event with BMX dirt, BMX flatland, FMX and, of course, the best trick contest that closes the day.
A cool part is that all riders are there just for fun and riding with a little stress, even if the final compétition is still the high-pressure best trick. Frenchman Tom Pagès took the winner's trophy back home with his brand new Flair. See what else went on in the photo gallery below.
Riders go the extra distance at Finist'Air
Although it's in remote northwest France, the Finist'Air Show continues to draw big names in BMX and FMX, such as newly crowned X-Fighters champion Tom Pagès and BMX flatland champ Mathias Dandois. Finist'Air is a play on the word "finistre" that means end of the Earth, and these stars showed they'll go to the ends of the Earth to showcase their skills.
