David works out at Maximum Results in Reno with personal trainer Max McManus, whose past and present clients include NFL and MLB athletes such as Dustin Pedroia of the Boston Red Sox.
Trainer Max McManus tailors David's workouts specifically for pipe skiing, what he refers to as "functional training." This includes training each leg individually and constantly changing David's exercises so that his muscles learn to react to the unexpected variables that can arise when launching 24 feet out of a 22-foot pipe.

One of the things Wise loves about Reno is the proximity to mountains. He is an avid hunter who bagged an elk this fall. Here, he takes down a little easier prey: the family Christmas tree.

David and Lexi met in a church leadership camp when they were in high school, but didn't start dating until four years later. "Then everything started moving real fast," Lexi says. "We knew right away that we were going to get married."
"Nayeli is the best thing that's every happened to us outside of our relationship together," says Lexi. "It just seems so perfect the way that it all happened, regardless of if that was our five-year plan or not."
