Profile: Tyler Warren
This is Tyler Warren
Growing up in South Orange County, Tyler Warren was exposed to a lot of varying influences. His brand of surfing is an amalgamation of old and new, cherry-picking the best of many generations.
Works Of Art
And understudy of the late, great Terry Martin, Warren's particular about the boards he rides and shapes. They're more works of art than simple surf vehicles.
Warren spends a lot of time traveling, but when he's home in Dana Point you may find him at Salt Creek. By now he shouldn't be that surprised that he's pulling into a closeout there.
Caught in a "Big Wednesay" moment.
Walk The Plank
Dexterous and deft on any surfboard, Warren's as comfortable running the plank as he is pulling into closeouts.
Waxing a new board is always a good thing. It's even better when it's a board you've made yourself.

Warren spends a lot of time in the shaping bay, which makes him somewhat of a throwback to the surfer/shaper mold of old. As he notes, "There's something gratifying about making your own boards."
Strike A Pose
Some things are just timeless. Warren, striking a pose along the San Diego/Orange County line.
