Bike check -- Premium's Dan Foley
Dan Foley's Premium Aurora
On a recent trip to Southern California, Greenville's Dan Foley sat down with ESPN to run through the features of his new signature frame from Premium, the Aurora.
Foley's front end consists of Premium Connor Lodes signature bars, a Premium Sub 10 stem and Duo Corey Bohan signature grips, well worn in for good measure.
Dan's drivetrain includes Premium 1948 cranks, Premium plastic pedals, every pro's go to-chain from The Shadow Conspiracy, and a Premium Gnarstar 28 tooth sprocket.
Forks, front wheel
Up front, Foley rides Haro's Skeleton forks and a G-Sport Marmoset hub laced to a G-Sport Birdcage rim.
Foley's signature frame, constructed of 100% heat-treated cr-mo, features a 75 degree head tube angle, a 13.75" rear end, a hydro-formed triple butted down tube. The Aurora is available in three top tube sizes: 20.5, 20.8 and 21. Dan rides the 20.8 size.
Foley's peg of choice is the Chad Kerley signature Premium peg: the Premium Chadow peg.
Up front, Dan's tire of choice is the Chad Kerley signature Premium tire, in a 2.4 inch width.
On the back wheel, Dan goes with a G-Sport Ratchet hub (9-tooth) laced to a G-Sport Birdcage rim, a G-Sport hub guard and Duo's Stunner Lo tire in a 2.25 inch width.
Dan doesn't know the brand of the Pivotal seat post on his bike, but he does know the brand of seat. It's from Duo.
We already went through Dan's drivetrain choices, but we didn't mention that Dan rides a left-side drive setup, so there. Captions provided by a snowstorm and being stranded in a hotel in Aspen, Colo.
The Premium Sub-10 V2 is just like the original Sub-10, but with beveled edges and corners to lighten it up even more. The stem now weighs in at 9.2 ounces and is available in new anodized colors.
And to close out this bike check, we present a photo of Dan Foley taking a photo of his bike in the sunset.
