In a history-making moment, Levi LaVallee and Robbie Maddison landed dual jumps over a 300-foot water gap for the 2011 Red Bull: "New Year. No Limits" event.
Levi LaVallee broke his own world record for distance jumped on a snowmobile by launching 412 feet, smashing his own record of 361 feet, set last year. Robbie Maddison broke the record on a motorcycle during training with a 392-foot jump.
Fog during the New Year's Eve event led to some concern, but Maddison says the weather ultimately didn't affect the jumps.
"I was excited to make it to the other side in one piece," said Levi LaVallee after the jump. "When I saw the 410 marker go by, I knew it was going to be an amazing jump."
Says Robbie Maddison about his 378-foot jump: "I would have liked to have gone further than that tonight, but I was just happy to land safely on the other side."

LaVallee's in-run was made from artificial turf and was 1,100 feet long, 8 feet wide and 6 feet off the ground. Maddison's in-run was 1,400 feet long, 8 feet wide and 6 feet off the ground.
During training Maddison landed a 392 foot jump, just beating the existing world record.
