Red Bull Dirt Conquers BMX competition -- Guadalajara, Mexico
Red Bull Dirt Conquers
Following the return of BMX Dirt at X Games Foz, Dave King and the dirt construction crew at X Games traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico to begin the build for Red Bull Dirt Conquers. The course, a mixture of dirt-sculpted jumps and park obstacles, played host to a pro contest with an international selection of riders. Here, UK rider Kye Forte tables out of a dirt quarter.
Sergio Layos competed at X Games Barcelona, placed high in BMX Park, and then traveled to Mexico to shred the capsule at Red Bull Dirt Conquers. Layos finished in eighth place in the finals.

Red Bull rider Corey Bohan was extremely vocal about his disappointment in not being picked to ride BMX Dirt at X Games Foz (at one point he Instagrammed a photo of his X Games medals in the trash), but he arrived in Mexico with a renewed perspective and proceeded to finish sixth in the finals.
This is the rider responsible for the design and construction of the course: X Games BMX Dirt builder Dave King. "To be honest this is the most original event I have ever seen," said Red Bull Dirt Conquers winner Ryan Nyquist. That originality comes from the mind of Dave King.
Despite rain the day before competition, and an extremely warm temperatures on the day of competition, spectators packed the stands at Red Bull Dirt Conquers.
Just months after undergoing a spleenectomy, Ryan Guettler returned to competition and walked away with seventh place. Guettler's runs included a double backflip, but three falls in the finals kept him off the podium.
Brazil's Leandro Moreira finished in third place at Red Bull Dirt Conquers, and picked up a new sponsorship from Mongoose in the process.
