Bike Check: Dakota Roche's Cult OS
Dakota Roche in Austin, Texas
Cult's Dakota Roche with his 20.75" top tube Cult OS, including Dakota's signature Cult seat, the Cult/Vans collaboration grips and prototype samples of a new Cult tire in the works.
Dakota Roche's Cult OS
As far as bike setups go, Dakota keeps it pretty simple. Dakota claims he hasn't jumped into the four-peg game just yet because the fourth peg messes with his monstrous ability to bunnyhop nearly five feet.
The OS Frame
According to Dakota: Right now I'm riding the OS but I've ridden a Bad Boy and a Deathrow also. They've all been awesome, but I kinda wanted to put an all black bike together a month ago so I grabbed an OS. Plain and simple.
Cult Dak Seat
I've been into the feel and look of bigger seats for a while now so Cult hooked it up with a bigger seat that's still really clean looking. Durable material completes the formula for a dope seat.
During Texas Toast, Dakota rode pro dirt. According to Dakota: I was a little skeptical at first with the Cult sample tires considering they're not as knobby as what I usually ride, but they killed it, gripping like no other.
The new Cult/Vans grips, according to Dak, feel amazing and are super durable. They should be out pretty soon in a few different colors. You can't go wrong.
I dabble with four pegs here and there but can't fully commit because the fourth peg messes up my hop super bad.
A member of the Cinema Wheel Co. team since January, Dakota rides Cinema's Tungsten wheels in black, front and back. Alex Kennedy makes me want to put a freecoaster on though, says Dak.
Although Cult and Cinema don't make cranks, Dakota rides Odyssey's Twombolt cranks. Odyssey hooks me up with parts that Cult doesn't make. They've always had my back, he says.
Odyssey's trusted Twisted PC pedals round out Dakota's Odyssey-supplied drivetrain.
Cult Topload Stem
I was riding Chris Cole's bike one day and realized I really liked the feel of a top load so I threw one on. That was a year ago.
Cult's Doomsday pegs round out Dakota's bike, along with a hub guard to protect his hub and spokes on the rear. And yes, that's also the new Cult half-link chain in there too.
