Dakota Roche's powerful brand of BMX Street riding should be back in time for X Games Los Angeles 2013.

With X Games Barcelona just over two weeks away, several names on the current BMX athlete invite list have been replaced with alternate invites due to injuries, including BMX Street athletes Dennis Enarson and Dakota Roche.

Roche, who won the bronze medal in BMX Street at X Games Los Angeles 2012, received an automatic invite to X Games Barcelona based on his placing in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, Roche underwent minor arthroscopic knee surgery seven weeks ago, and things did not go as planned.

According to Roche, "When the surgeon was in there he noticed some pretty severe damage to the cartilage. He had to perform a micro fracture surgery to the cartilage on the base of my femur and the top of my tibia, which takes much longer to heal then a basic arthroscopic clean up. I'll be back on my bike again by early summer but until then, I'm on the road to recovery with physical therapy and road bike riding."

In addition to Roche, Haro/Nike team rider Dennis Enarson will sit out competition in X Games Barcelona due to a broken wrist suffered during BMX Park competition at X Games Foz do Iguacu last week. Enarson underwent surgery this week on his wrist, but will not be healthy enough to ride BMX Street or Park in Barcelona.

U.K. riders Alex Kennedy and Paul Ryan will replace Roche and Enarson in BMX Street, while Cult/Etnies pro Chase Hawk will replace Enarson in BMX Park.

Additional invites to BMX athletes for X Games Barcelona include Colton Satterfield and Andy Buckworth in BMX Big Air, Dennis McCoy and Zack Warden in BMX Vert, and Dan Lacey and Steve Churchill in BMX Street.

X Games Barcelona begins on May 16.
