Europe's largest contest of the summer season, the 2011 BMX Masters, finished up earlier today, with X Games Gold Medalist Daniel Dhers taking home first place in Pro Park and Spine, James Foster taking home the win in Pro Dirt, and Matthias Dandois placing first in Pro Flatland.
"Good weekend today, pulled double duty at park and mini with firsts! Thanks to everybody at the BMXMasters," said Dhers via Twitter, who additionally competed in pro flatland and asked organizers about the possibility of competing for an overall title next year.
Held at the former location of the BMX Worlds, and considered by many to a replacement for the Worlds, the BMX Masters channels the spirit of weekend-long BMX get-togethers in Europe. Featuring contests for park, mini, dirt and flatland, with classes for pro, amateur and girls, the BMX Masters is one of the few events in the world that brings together the top pros of the sport and a laid back competition atmosphere.
