Shaun White, seen here at the U.S. Grand Prix in February, will release a debut album with his new band, Bad Things, later this year.

Snowboard Olympian, X Games gold medalist and now-musician Shaun White has announced a headlining summer tour with his band, Bad Things, kicking off next month at Santos Party House in Manhattan, N.Y.

The Los Angeles-based five-piece outfit, which features White on lead guitar, recently signed with Warner Bros. Records and will release a full-length album later this year produced by Rob Schnapf, who has worked with Beck, The Vines, Guided By Voices and the late Elliott Smith.

The band's first track from their upcoming debut album is the four-minute "Caught Inside," now streaming on SoundCloud and YouTube.

Joining the 26-year-old regular-footer onstage next month on tour will be lead vocalist Davis LeDuke (a founding member of the now-defunct Billy Boy On Poison), bass player Jared Palomar (previously with Augustana), guitarist Anthony Sanudo and drummer Lena Zawaideh (formerly with San Diego-based Small City Calling).

White, Sanudo, and Zawaideh grew up in North County, San Diego, and have been friends for years, according to a press release from Warner Bros. Records.

The band plays select New York dates in mid-July, featuring other acts such as Ambassador X and We Are Scientists. In late July, the band returns to the East Coast for 10 shows throughout the Northeast and in Canada.

Earlier this year, White dropped out of competition from X Games Tignes, citing time away from on-snow Olympic training because of international travel. White also decided against competing in Skateboard Vert at all X Games events this year to focus on training for the 2014 Sochi Olympics. In January, White took home the six-peat in Snowboard SuperPipe at X Games Aspen 2013.

White was not readily available for comment, said Savannah Cowley, marketing and public relations director at Shaun White Enterprises.
