"The Crash Reel" -- an HBO production that documents the story of pro snowboarder Kevin Pearce -- screens Wednesday night at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, Colo., as part of the X Games FILM showcase at X Games Aspen. The film captures the moments leading up to Pearce's horrific crash while training to compete in the 2010 Winter Olympics, his resulting traumatic brain injury and the path he and his tight-knit Vermont family have taken toward recovery. Academy Award nominee Lucy Walker directs.

Pearce will be on hand directly after Wednesday night's showing to take questions from the audience. The screening is open to the public and tickets may be purchased here for $15. Those unable to attend in person can submit questions for Pearce via Facebook for a chance to have them answered.
