Calvin Harris: Drew Ressler. Major Lazer: Ferry GouwCalvin Harris, left, will perform Jan. 26 at X Games Aspen, with Major Lazer on Jan. 27.

Beginning next month in Aspen, Colo., X Games fans will have a new event to get hyped for: music.

Though performances from top artists have often been part of the X Games experience, 2013 marks the debut of a special concert series dedicated to showcasing the best talent in each of the five countries set to be host to the events this coming year: the United States, France, Brazil, Spain and Germany.

Kicking things off during X Games Aspen are headlining acts Calvin Harris and Major Lazer. Major Lazer -- a project by DJs/producers Diplo and Jillionaire as well as Walshy Fire -- and Harris are both well known in the electronic dance-music scene, drawing huge crowds at music festivals across the planet and collaborating with the likes of Beyoncé, No Doubt, Snoop Lion, Rihanna, Dizzee Rascal and Ke$ha.

Singles such as "Feel So Close" by Harris and "Get Free" by Major Lazer will ring familiar to those lucky enough to witness their performances in Aspen and those streaming the concerts live on the Web.

"I always sucked at skating and surfing, but I'm good at DJing!" said Diplo about hitting the X Games stage. "My dreams will come true next month in Aspen. I made it, Mom!"

The X Fest Stage at Buttermilk Mountain will play host to Harris at 4:15 p.m. MT on Jan. 26, followed the next day at 4:15 p.m. by Major Lazer. X Fest Stage concerts are free to the public.

In addition to the in-venue concerts, X Games MUSIC will present three special shows at the Belly Up Aspen: Bloc Party on Jan. 23 at 8 p.m.; Tyler the Creator on Jan. 25 at 6:30 p.m.; and Harris on Jan. 25 at 10:30 p.m. Belly Up Aspen shows are ticketed events; to purchase, visit bellyupaspen.com.
