Jason KenworthyJulian Wilson en route to the biggest win of his young career. Watch out for him the second half of the 2012 ASP season, he's going to be dangerous.

Over the weekend we polled the X Games Facebook audience to see if they had any worthy questions for Julian Wilson after his big win at the Nike U.S. Open of Surfing. There was no shortage of responses, but these were some of the best. Wilson's now on his way to Tahiti for the Billabong Pro Tahiti, but he took some time to answer a few questions. Here's what he had to say:

Matthew Kimpel: How have you prepared to get where you are now?
Julian Wilson: I could spend all day answering that question but the two most important things you can prepare are mind and body. I've worked hard to get my body fit and strong after some injuries over the last few years. Then build confidence -- that goes a long way.

Christopher Braley: What is your "it" factor? What do you think about that pushes you to be the best in the world?
Well, the thing I think about can't be shared, but like I said to Matthew, it helps if you're confident in your ability under pressure.

Fatboii Atz: What was the first thing you thought of when you won?
    I did it!

Justin Ignacious Squires: What's better, crowd surfing or wave surfing?
I've never crowd surfed, and surfing a wave is the best feeling ever, so I would say wave surfing.

Hunter Young: What's your inspiration in life and/or surfing?
Family first and foremost ... after that it's personal goals and fulfillment.

Marce Sandoval: [What's your] biggest fear when you are riding a wave? How does it feel to win the U.S. Open of Surfing?
It really depends on the conditions and what I'm trying to do, but I would just say failure to execute. Winning the U.S. Open's been the best moment in my career thus far, mainly due to crowds and prestige of the event.

      Surfing Life after Sandy

It's been over six months since Hurricane Sandy and the Rockaway Beach area was among the hardest hit. It's been a long road back and there's still a lot of work to do, but a little summer will hopefully ease things up in NY.
