I bought a Super 8 camera in December for about 90 bucks. It's a Canon Auto Zoom 814 Electronic. It's real sharp -- tough, too. I didn't really know how to use it and had never shot Super 8 before, but luckily it came with a manual... and a lot of automatic settings. I wanted to learn, so just I started shooting. I went through almost 50 rolls before the season was out.
Amazingly, most of it worked. Some shots didn't, but at this point, I can't remember which ones anyway. That's the fun of film. And filming snowboarding. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. And there's only one way to find out. We tried. All winter. Here's a minute and a half of it. Look for the full-length flick to be released free-for-download in September.
