If you've ever wanted to hang out with a world-class skateboarder (and X Games silver medalist), now's your chance. Virtually, anyway.
Joining a growing group of top skaters tapping the vast social media marketing world, this year's X Games Los Angeles Big Air runner-up Mitchie Brusco launched an application that lets users see what the 15-year-old vert and MegaRamp rider is up to and interact with him through instant messaging and video.
The app, "Hanginout [sic] with Mitchie Brusco," hit iTunes earlier this month.
"As I'm on the road most of the time, I don't get as much time as I would like to hang out with friends, family, and fans," says Brusco. "So we created the next best thing. [It] gives ... you the opportunity to hang with me, ask me questions and get my video answers. I might even have a few tips or tricks up my sleeve for those who hang the most."
While it is the most interactive, Brusco's app isn't the first from skateboarding's elite. Earlier this year, X Games Los Angeles gold medalist Bob Burnquist launched "Bob Burnquist's Dreamland," while Mike Vallely debuted his high-definition "Mike V: Skateboard Party," both of which are free games. In the productivity category, Zero pro Garrett Hill's maiden voyage into the app economy, "BlackBook," is a 99 cent tool that allows users to efficiently map skate spots and create corresponding trick lists and footage archives.
"Hanginout with Mitchie Brusco" is available for iPhone and iPad for $3.99.
