Summer at the Boondock Trails

Summer is in full swing, and with it, one of the great American BMX past times -- summer time trail riding on the east coast. For over a decade, ESPN contributing photographer Keith Terra has documented the growing trail scene of his home area in Long Island, N.Y. And despite the many years of plowed trails and rain-soaked springs, the Long Island trail scene continues to proliferate.

Recently, Terra spent some time at a nearby set of trails known as the "Boondock Trails," and with the help of some visiting riders from Conn. and other trails throughout Long Island, he was able to piece together our first summer time glimpse at the 2012 east coast trail scene. Check the photos, then get digging. I don't know what that last sentence actually means, but at least I'm admitting to it.
