Terrible One team rider Danny Hickerson crashed on a 360 at a set of trails in the Houston, Texas area last weekend, and unfortunately fractured some vertebrae in the process. Hickerson updated his condition from inside Ben Taub Hospital, an elite level 1 trauma hospital in Houston.
"I'll be [in the] hospital for the next few days. It's been rough, I fell and broke my back in a few places, and have four staples in my head. What a weekend! Thanks everyone for the support," said Hickerson.
After several days in a hospital bed, Hickerson stood up and walked (with assistance) in the hospital. Hickerson will make a full recovery, but will be in a back brace for the next several months.
"Danny was and still is one of my favorite bike riders of all day. I can't wait to watch the show again in a few months," said Empire BMX teammate Aaron Ross.
Hickerson, 27, is without a doubt, one of the most criminally underrated park and street riders within BMX. Through his sponsor Terrible One, Hickerson has a pro model signature frame that has been updated for 2012 with new colors and new head tube and down tube gussets. Hickeson competed in BMX Street in 2010 at X Games Los Angeles, and finished in seventh place overall. Hickerson will also appear in the upcoming Empire BMX video "Bad Idea," which premieres next week in Long Beach, Calif.
