Now that it's June, most people have put away their skis and dusted off their bikes, golf clubs, river-floating inner tubes and whatever else occupies them in the summer. But for the hardy locals in Jackson, Wyo., the summer ski season is just getting started. Memorial Day weekend marked the official start of the summer tram season -- geared mainly for hiking, biking and sightseeing -- at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
You're not allowed to ski within the ski area boundries although you are permitted to bring your skis and backcountry safety gear up the tram and ski or hike out the gate to access the backcountry terrain. And get this: Last weekend brought fresh powder. Here is visual proof.
