This is an interesting concept from Red Bull and Senad Grosic. Senad hails from Austria and is one of the first riders to successfully land the bike flip in the mid '00s. In 2010, Senad also became the first BMX rider to perform in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, and now his sights are set on returning to his roots.
Recently, Senad and Red Bull traveled to Bosnia and Herzegovina to learn about the cultural history of six bridges in the areas surrounding Sarajevo, Visegard, Konjic, Mostar and Trebinje. Most of theses bridges were constructed in the 16th century during the Ottoman era, and have endured to present times with protection from UNESCO.
Now, Senad Grosic has added a new notch into the history of these bridges, riding a box jump and landing the first flip whips on ancient grounds throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. Combining an appreciation for history with BMX in this blog is something that doesn't happen often, so enjoy. Video by Red Bull.
