Eastern pow days, finally

A recent powder day at Stowe, Vt.

East Coast skiers are known for their tenacity, even when it comes to skiing in less-than-ideal snow conditions. This year's abysmal snow totals had even Vermonters, some of the hardiest snow-sliders in the world, wondering if their winter would ever come. But this week, their patience was rewarded as massive storms dumped several feet of light, low-density snow all across the northern Green Mountains.

No one was happier than the Meathead Films crew. Based in Burlington, Vt., the Meatheads have been making Eastern-centric ski flicks for the past decade. With a huge storm right in their backyard, former Meathead athlete, marketing director and filmer Chris "Rooster" James, along with local Freeskiing World Tour athlete Louise Lintilhac and last year's Ski the East Freeride Tour winner Griffin Dunne, headed out to the slopes of Mount Mansfield, home of Stowe Mountain Resort, to search out secret stashes.
