Freeskiing has come a long way since 2010. Which sounds weird considering that wasn't so long ago. But in those 12 short months, freeskiing became an Olympic sport, thanks to La Niña, over 700 inches of snow fell from the sky, triples became nearly routine, and one man skied Denali's never-been-skied-before South Face.
Talk about a crazy year. There were devastating losses and the stories of strength born from tragedy. There were gold medals won and lost, movies made, and ski resorts that announced big news. At the end of the year, the videos, the snow conditions, and the contest results fade into the past and the things we remember most aren't things at all. They're the people who make freeskiing go round, an incredible crew of talented athletes always looking for the next great adventure.
