Thousands of spectators showed up on Saturday in San Francisco for the Downtown Throwdown Rail Jam's first new tour stop in the contest's six-year history. Following a successful first stop in Seattle at the beginning of October, Dylan Alito, in full Halloween garb, took home first place and $5,000 at the tour's second stop.

Event organizers, contestants, and spectators were eager to see how downtown San Francisco would work as a venue for an event like this. Snowboy Productions and Lib Tech brought in almost 100,000 pounds of snow to the event's location, between the Main City Library, the UN Plaza, and City Hall.

Judges Chris Grenier, Zack Marben, Sean Genovese, and Darrell Mathes announced the top five riders to an appreciative crowd. In ascending order: Brandon Hobush, Ryan Paul, Dylan Thompson, Nick Visconti, and Dylan Alito made up the top five. Andrew Brewer took home the Destroyer award (a blacked out, cordless grinder courtesy of Zumiez) for his aggressive riding and Chris Brewer's smooth style was recognized with a seafood dinner for two presented by Crab Grab.
