Gretchen Bleiler has been writing a blog for the ladies over at espnW. Her latest is a really interesting first-hand account of what happens inside the mind of a competitor trying to step up her game in competition. Last month Kelly Clark won yet another halfpipe competition at the Burton New Zealand Open, leading many to wonder if we are about to witness another season of complete dominance by the only female to land a 1080 in competition so far.
It turns out Bleiler has been working on a new trick: a frontside corked 720. According to her blog, she's got the trick dialed, and hit New Zealand ready to take the next snowboard event season by storm. But something got into her head and not only could she not pull it, her overall run suffered because of it, and she ended up taking fourth in the contest. Here are her thoughts on the matter. It's an interesting read. Check it out.
