The 2011 FMX season has been plagued with injury, from the not-so-bad to the extra brutal. Unfortunately for Australia's Robbie Maddison, his injures thus far have fallen along the lines of the latter. Setting off the chain of events was a big crash via a failed Volt at the Madrid round of Red Bull X-Fighters where he rung his bell to the point of being unable to compete. Shortly after, while training for X Games, he cased a jump on his FMX park straining a disc in his back and further adding to his growing list of ailing injuries.
With the last round of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour on the horizon -- and in his hometown of Sydney, Australia -- Maddison remains optimistic that he'll be able to give it 100% come competition time. ESPN FMX hooked up with Maddo to find out exactly why he pulled out of X Games 17 and what he has planned for Sydney. Peep.
