Brian Kachinsky is the consummate professional -- always getting coverage, always friendly to everyone he meets, and always pushing the limits of what he's capable of on a BMX bike. As a longstanding member of the etnies BMX team, Brian has worked with the brand extensively, and earlier this year, etnies decided it was about time to offer Brian a signature colorway in the shoe of his choice. Enter the Brian Kachinsky etnies Jameson 2 Mid.
WHAT IT IS:
The etnies Jameson 2 Mid is a mid-top etnies shoe, featuring a leather upper, cupsole construction, a thin padded tongue and high collar for ankle support, STI Lite Level 1 footbed and 400 NBS rubber outsole with internal EVA midsole. The colorway, back and red with a gum sole, was chosen by Kachinsky. "The exterior is black and red, which happens to be synonymous with a lot of Chicago sports teams," says Brian (BK lives in Chicago, Ill.) And according to Brian, the shoe reflects his life story in a way. "I grew up in a small town (Neenah, Wis.) and now live in the big city (Chicago, Ill.) I wanted my shoe to have the exterior and look of a big city, with the comforts of a small town. To blend those two together into the perfect world."
WHY IT RULES:
This shoe rules because Brian is seriously pushing the limits of street riding, and if he can walk away from nollie gaps to rail (and the associated bails that sometimes accompany Brian's all or nothing approach to riding), then this shoe is good enough for anyone that wants to ride BMX. "It's the perfect shoe for me," says Brian. "It's slim and sleek but it also has enough protection to where it would be a good riding shoe." But don't take my or Brian's word for it. Check the video.
