Shaun White will make his Hollywood film debut this week in the movie, "Friends With Benefits," starring Justin Timberlake, Woody Harrelson and Mila Kunis. The film premiered Monday night in New York City and will be released nationwide on Friday.
"Enjoying the Friends With Benefits premiere ..." White posted on Twitter Monday night.
White plays himself in the romantic comedy. "It is very difficult to play yourself. You are still reciting lines and making choices," Hollywood acting coach Cameron Thor of the Carter Thor Studio told ESPN.com in a previous interview about White's acting career. "With Shaun, I don't think he will ever undergo a total transformation to play a character. We ultimately want the heart of the man who makes us smile when we look at him and makes us feel like we know him when we watch him on television."
According to USA Today, after director Will Gluck asked White to appear in the film, White hired an acting coach to perfect his role, which includes a scene with a verbal fight in a bar between him and Timberlake's character.
White shot his scenes in the movie last August on location in New York.
Earlier this month, White won an ESPY for best male action sports athlete. Next week, he'll compete in the Skateboard Vert contest at X Games 17 in Los Angeles.
