Level 1 Productions dropped the teaser today for its 12th annual release, "After Dark." We caught up with company founder Josh Berman last week for his take on the upcoming flick, although he wouldn't let slip who got the closer.
When you think about your new movie, what gets you most excited?
I think there are a few awesome, standout athlete parts that will definitely impress the hell out of people. I think that people will get what they expect from a Level 1 movie in 2011.
Who stood out the most? Will you tell me who is getting closing segment?
Well, I won't give away that information. But I would say that Parker White had a phenomenal year. I think he's definitely going to impress people. Ahmet [Dadali] had another rad year. We've got lots of good stuff from the usual suspects, Wiley Miller, Mike Hornbeck, Tanner Rainville and Adam Delorme.
Parker White filmed with you a lot more this year than last year, didn't he?
He did. He didn't make it past the qualifying round at the first Winter Dew Tour stop, and pretty much said, "Forget contests," and spent the rest of the year tagging along with me and the rest of the guys, dedicating himself to filming.
What about locations? Did you go anywhere that Level 1 has never gone before?
We went to Moscow, Russia, that's a new location. Never been there before. We did a jib trip there. Kyle [Decker] ran in there with Chris O'Connell and [Tom] Wallisch, Ahmet and Hornbeck. They're a jib dream team and it turned out to be a really cool trip. We did some big mountain stuff with Telluride Heli Tracks in southern Colorado. That was pretty interesting. I normally don't think of Colorado as having rad heli skiing, but that was a really cool trip.
