Ruel 'Wormz' Smith is one of those characters you meet along the way that's so down to earth and so far out there at the same time, that it's nearly impossible not to want to know more about him as an individual. Born in Jamaica, and raised in New York City, Wormz is a husband, father, musician, and BMX rider. And throughout the years, his riding skills in the New York City area have become legendary.

As one of the original riders on Animal, 30-year-old Ruel has put in as much time as anybody, and he has rightfully earned himself a spot in the history books of modern street riding without ever going out of his way to promote himself, his riding, or hype up his own status. He's one of the few BMX riders that has "it" and also gets "it," and I think that stems from the fact that he's just trying to make his own way in the world.
