In 2010, Robbie "Maddo" Maddison shocked the FMX world by pulling out the once-forgotten "Volt," a trick invented and perfected by three-time X Games gold medalist Kyle Loza, at the Madrid round of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. From there Maddo took the Volt to X Games 16 Best Trick, where he pulled it clean, along with a side saddle-lander thrown in for good measure, and took home silver.
As you know, the Volt and other high-risk body varial tricks can't be learned without a foam pit and that's why Maddo has decided to build his own foamy playpen in the front yard of his Temecula, Calif. estate. Mastering the Volt in both Brian Deegan and Ronnie Renner's foam pits was nice and all, but soon Maddo will have a full functioning pit of his own to continue elevating FMX tricks on his own dime.
We caught up with Maddo to peep the beginning of his new pit, which is currently under construction, as well as get a look at his new DC Shoes riding gear.
