Hustling to get out into the 40 inches that fell in Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons of Utah recently led to an encounter with the Rome crew in the Brighton parking lot. Bjorn Leines, Johnnie Paxson and their filmer Leland McNamara were chasing powder to film in for their movie "The Shred Remains." I joined them. A quick hike off Brighton's Crest chairlift led us to surreal views that would make postcards jealous, but there was barely any time to take it all in before Leines and Paxson were leaping off cliffs. Over the next few days we were rewarded with more snow, sun, powder, which the boys said thanks for with double corks and multiple rotations. These are the things all good snowboard movies are made of.
