For the past several years, T-1/Fly/etnies/Fox team rider Ruben Alcantara suffered a nagging back problem that left him unable to ride. Ruben tried everything, and was about to undergo extensive back surgery when he decided to give one last chiropractor a chance to see what was wrong.
And it turns out that it all came back to the way he chewed (not the massive impact of 20-foot gap to wallrides.) In the above video, Ruben discusses the process to recovery, shows off his new braces and sessions one of the biggest BMX hips in existence. Back problems have taken out some of the more important legends in our sport in recent years, but it's nice to see Ruben back on the bike, healthy and happy. Video by Terrible One.
In other Ruben-related news, Fly Bikes is releasing their new video "Tres" on Dec. 24, which will be available for free on the Fly Bikes site. Check Fly here for the trailer and check back later this week for what is sure to be an amazing video.
