    Being J.P. Walker: Dropping Sunday

    By Mary Fenton

    Published Friday June 11, 2010

J.P. Walker did not compete in the Olympics. He does not have a clothing line in a big-box store. He hasn't been on Letterman, The Today Show or on the cover of Rolling Stone. But for every A-list accolade awarded his peers, Walker has a first-ever trick or video part. And at the start of this season -- the biggest in snowboarding's history -- when other riders were putting on their contest faces and Walker was rebounding from adversity and tragedy, the 32-year-old dropped his 15th video part, an all-switch closer. It's a feat unmatched in snowboarding, and it's the reason Walker is still one of snowboarding's most influential riders, 15 years later.

This coming Sunday, we'll present the latest in our Being series: John Paul Walker.

    Stay tuned, son ...
