Six Days with Peter Ramondetta Interview
Peter Ramondetta bleeds footage. Last year when Peter heard the new Real video got pushed back, instead of sitting on his footage, he posted almost a full part of banging '"throw away" and opted to film more new stuff. This week Real posted a clip Pete filmed with Dan Wolfe in six days. If his murderizing is any hint as to what kind of footage he has logged, Real might want to just put out a "Pete & Pete's Pack Of Lies" video of all Pete's stuff while they wait for the rest of the guys to get done filming for the full length.
How many days did your '5 Days with Dan Wolfe' clip really take to film?
I think it was about 6 days. It's not 100% accurate.
Was it Jim Thiebaud that was perpetrating the lie?
Yeah, I think that would probably be Thiebaud.
How was it working with him on this clip?
It was really cool. I never really filmed with him much before and he's a pretty cool guy to hang out with. Pretty nice guy. I was a little nervous at first because I didn't know him too well but he's real easy to get along with, no pressure. He's just mellow.
How many different dollies and jibs did Wolfe use when filming this clip?
He didn't use any dollies. He used the tripod a few times, that's about it. All the rolling stuff that's just him on the board, following.
No cranes? No camera mounted to an automobile?
No, no gadgets. It was all Wolfe.
How is it that he had no gadgets and he still films better than the majority of filmers out today?
I guess he's just good at what he does. He takes it serious. I think he really focuses on it and tries to do good. You'd probably have to ask Dan about the stuff he does.
Is he filming a bunch of stuff for the next Real video?
He has been starting to film more and more for it recently. Towards the beginning he wasn't doing so much; he was doing his own side projects. Since I did that five days with him, I've been filming with him a lot more.
I've been seeing a lot of photos and interviews with you. Are you gunning for last part?
I don't know. I just want to do the best I can do. It would be nice but it wouldn't really matter to me. I would actually rather see Dennis Busenitz with the last part. I saw some of his footage; I think he'll be the one holding it down. He's got pretty good stuff.
When are we going to finally see this thing?
I know about as much as you do.
Pete, I know nothing about anything.
I thought it was going to be last year but we had a few injuries. JT Aultz and Massimo Cavedoni got hurt so they needed some more time and it keeps getting pushed back. Jim [Thiebaud] was talking about summer but who knows? Stuff always gets pushed back. I think for sure sometime this year.
Is it true Thiebaud is going to name it after his poetry book, "The Distance Got Did?"
I don't even know if we have a name yet, I think we're still trying to debate that but that would be a great name.
Is there any chance we'll see a taller Ernie Torres in this video?
I don't know if we'll see that.
Will we ever see that?
I'd like to see that one day, but I'm not holding my breath.
I see the way you operate. How many hours of footage do you have logged?
Five or six, maybe. No, I don't know exactly how much I have.
Well, I can't wait until it finally comes out.
Yeah, it'll be nice to finally finished with it. Hopefully some time this year.
Are you tired of working on it?
No, not really. I don't really think of it as just working on a project. I'd be skating anyways so I just skate and keep going.
