Here is the 10th and final episode of Tailgate Alaskaan event that if you've been following the series, you know is no small tribute to the lifestyle and type of riding that the area offers. It's a theme that's been constant: Alaska, a place all unto its own, a proving ground, where the journey becomes the destination, and other never-ending platitudes of praise.
You might think, man, this is excessive. This is the most brazen brown-nosing a region has ever seen.
Year after year we hear it and see it, in mags, in movies, here on the web. You think it would get tired. You would think. But then you see the turns you could be having, the blower pow, the wide-open bowls, the tight couloirs, chutes, natural halfpipes and windlips; all of it is there, and on such a grand scale.
So you let the dream continue one more year. And for those who have already made the trek, for those who have experienced the mountains of Alaska. Well, of course they're coming back.
