A couple weeks back we mentioned collector Dennis Nazari and his Vintage Snowboard Museum at Salty Peaks in Salt Lake City, when he was featured in this episode of Tailgate Alaska.
But I also wanted to take a moment and give props to Brian Dunlap and Ricky Melnick who have a solid collection of their own going over at DVS. It's not quite as robust as Nazari's, who claims to have the "world's largest collection of vintage snowboards," but what they do have that Salty Peaks doesn't is a very cool online gallery. Though there's not a lot of information about the boards, it is a great looking, clean and easy to browse gallery that allows the viewer to see both the top sheet and bottom graphic by rolling over the board image.
"We've had this up for a while, and we have a ton of boards that aren't yet photographedthough we actually just added a Nitro Andreas Wiig pro model yesterday," said Melnick, who is the snow TM for DVS. "Most of the boards belong to Brian (Dunlap), who's been collecting for years now and then I get boards from the team riders to add to the collection." At any rate, it's a nice work in progress and it's always cool to see a piece of the sport's history being preserved. Check it out here.
